What is “The Epiphany Forge”?

What’s up with the name?

I’m so glad you asked!

An epiphany is a moment of sudden revelation, a bright new insight, the “lightbulb moment” when things become clear and pieces fall into place.

I think people tend to believe that these epiphanies come randomly or suddenly and it’s a moment of luck when they strike. I, however, truly believe that the epiphanies that create meaning for us and set us down a new path of discovery are the culmination of work and growth over time.

A forge can be a physical thing. A furnace or hearth used as a tool to create something spectacular. When you think of a forge you might think of a blacksmith, hammering away at red hot iron and using fire and strength to bend and mold it into something strong and sharp. Refining the metal into something precise.

Forging can also be an action. To build or create something with effort. To forge ahead and make forward progress. You may be familiar with the phrase “Forged by fire.” To be strengthened through great courage through incredible hardships, continuous difficulties, or seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

When setting out to establish my own practice, I wanted a name that reflected those beautiful moments of clarity that come from the strength and perseverance in working on ourselves in therapy. The Epiphany Forge is a place. A safe environment that I want to create and nurture for each of my clients. It’s the point of origin for the self-reflection, processing, confrontation, and acknowledgment needed to heal through so many of the mental health struggles we go through in life. But, it’s also an action. A meditation. A promise of actively working towards a goal to better ourselves.

I know through my own work in therapy (yeah, therapists need therapists too sometimes!) that things can seem darkest before the dawn. As a therapist to others, I strive to be that reminder of the spark that lives within each of us and that fuels the change in our therapeutic work. If you decide to work with Epiphany Forge Counseling, know that I will be here to tend the coals and keep the flame alive. Even when things get dark. You will not have to bear the heat alone. Because no one should have to go through this process alone. We all deserve to have support as we create the authentic and healthy lives we truly desire.

I am honored to sit with you and witness your journey. I am privileged to provide you with support based on my years of experience and continued thirst for knowledge and improvement. I see you and I acknowledge the strength it has taken to get you to this point. If you’ll allow me, I’ll do all I can to help add to your strength, your skills, and your preparedness to continue on towards whatever adventures and obstacles await.

Welcome to The Epiphany Forge. I’m so glad you’re here.
